Nominate an agent of change for the 2013 International Activist BlogHer Scholarship!

Do you know a woman blogger who is currently working or living outside of the US and actively working to raise awareness, consciousness or funding for a community, region or nation through social media? Nominate her for the International Activist BlogHer scholarship! The nominations for the International Activist BlogHer scholarship have been opened and will remain open until February 18.

women blog pictureThe International Activist Scholarship was created in 2008, when BlogHer (a leading social media site for women) won the Anita Borg Social Impact Award from the Anita Borg Institute. The award came with $10,000 dollars in prize money, which was distributed through four scholarships to bring activist women bloggers from around the world to BlogHer ’09 in Chicago.

Five years later, the conference is returning to Chicago and women’s work will be celebrated. Zeng Jinyan, an honoree in both 2007 and 2009 who was unable to attend because of being under house arrest in China, will also be attending. Talk about activism!

This is where you come in!.If you or someone else knows a woman blogger who fits the credentials, submit a nomination in her honor by February 18. The scholarship includes the following:

- A full two-day conference pass to BlogHer ’13

- Round trip airfare to and from Chicago, IL for the BlogHer ’13 annual conference

- A 2 night stay at the Sheraton Chicago during the conference

- The opportunity to present their work during the International Activists panel from 3:15-4:00 pm on Saturday, July 27, 2013 at BlogHer ’13

womensblog2The  International Activist selection committee is comprised of a mix BlogHer staff and a few highly respected women from the online community at large, including one of last year’s scholarship winners.Winners will be notified on March 15, 2013!
